After Belichick made a pointed statement on Friday that he's not interested in the open Giants job or any NFL job for that matter while he's coaching at North Carolina, Russini reported on Saturday that New York wasn't ever interested in Belichick in the first place.

Belichick worked under former Giants head coach Bill Parcells as a defensive coordinator from 1985 to 1990, helping lead two Super Bowl-winning defenses before building his own Pro Football Hall of Fame coaching legacy. But it seems like Belichick's camp decided to end the rumors early.
