Following a strong showing in his first NFL preseason, Shannon Sharpe had nothing but good things to say about New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The New York Giants had a major overhaul at the quarterback position this offseason. From the moment they traded up and selected quarterback Jaxson Dart with the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, head coach Brian Daboll has been consistent in his claim that Russell Wilson was the starting quarterback.

For an article published on Monday morning, Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic named Dart as one of the big winners of the preseason. It sounds like there's at least a chance that Dart could serve as the Giants' primary backup behind starter Russell Wilson for their regular-season opener at the Washington Commanders on Sept. 7.
