The FBI conducted a court-authorized search at John Bolton’s home as part of a national security investigation into whether he disclosed classified information in his 2020 book, according to two people familiar with the matter.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe provided FBI Director Patel the intelligence that was the basis of the search warrant, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

FBI agents conducted an operation at Bolton’s Maryland residence on Friday morning as part of a high-profile national security investigation.
