D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) has rallied more than 25% over the past five trading days after the company said it achieved a coveted industry landmark of “quantum supremacy.” What it essentially means is that the company’s quantum computer can now solve certain problems that can’t be deciphered with a conventional computer.

Regardless, it is unlikely to be a game-changer for the stock in the near term. D-Wave Quantum remains a capital-intensive company with very little revenue. It will remain a high-risk dilutive investment for the foreseeable future.
