As the 49ers closed out their preseason Saturday by beating the Chargers 30-23, let’s look at the highs and lows from the three exhibitions.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Trey Lance's return to the Bay Area led to three straight punts for the Los Angeles Chargers, who went on to lose 30-23 Saturday night to the San Francisco 49ers in the final exhibition game for both teams.

Obviously, 49ers fans will root for 49ers quarterbacks, but Brock Purdy and Mac Jones won't play. Instead, the 49ers will trot out Carter Bradley and Nate Sudfeld -- two backups who almost certainly won't make the 53-man roster.
