Dust off your No. 86 jersey. The Eagles are signing Zach Ertz, NFL sources told The Inquirer, confirming an initial ESPN report. The move comes after tests revealed that Dallas Goedert will miss multiple weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his knee after suffering the injury in Sunday’s win.

After back-to-back gritty wins to open the season, the Eagles are set to welcome back a fan favorite in Week 3. Zach Ertz is signing with the Eagles' practice squad, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported, with the expectation that he will be elevated to the 53-man roster for Philadelphia's Week 3 game against the Bears.

Ertz will join the practice squad in hopes of shoring up a tight end room depleted by injuries, the people said Monday on condition of anonymity because the move had not been announced. Ertz's return comes with multiple Eagles tight ends dealing with injuries.

Goedert is expected to miss a few weeks, which leaves the Eagles very shorthanded at tight end. He got hurt during the second quarter of Sunday’s game. In Goedert’s place, blocking tight end Johnny Mundt caught two passes for eight yards.
