The metro Detroit will continue to be under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. Sunday, with snow flurries, possibly 2 inches of additional accumulation.
Clouds, drizzle, fog, and a shower chance will hang around tonight. Gusty winds, lake effect snow, much colder temperatures, and chilling wind chills are all expected through the weekend.
Snow expected in Detroit tonight with a 100% chance and 2 inches predicted; some relief with a partly sunny Tuesday.
In Detroit, rain is expected to start Thursday night and continue into the weekend, mixing with snow starting Sunday, Nov. 9. Snow showers also are forecast for Monday, Nov. 10, according to the National Weather Service seven-day forecast.
Cold winds will blow in snow showers Thanksgiving Day. Wind chills will be in the teens and 20s with up to 2" of snow in metro Detroit. North and west could get more.

Michigan Snowstorm: Saturday update increases Winter Storm Warnings, slight tweak for Detroit, Ann Arbor
The end times of the winter storm warnings range from 10 a.m. Sunday over central Michigan to 1 p.m. Sunday over eastern Lower. The southwest corner, with several hours of lake-effect snow Sunday afternoon, doesn’t have the warning ending until 7 p.m. Sunday.
The trip home from Thanksgiving for millions of travelers in the central U.S. will be disrupted by a "significant winter storm," forecasters said.
Detroit's weather will change this week, with cloudy and sunny days, a chance of rain, and cooler temperatures.
DETROIT - We’ll see mostly sunny and dry conditions for the next couple of days in Southeast Michigan. Temperatures will be in the 40s to low 50s. But the forecast does show one window for rain.
