Suspicious packages were sent to election officials in at least five states, but there were no reports that any of the packages contained hazardous material

A suspicious parcel discovered at the Iowa Secretary of State's Office Monday was one of several targeted mailings sent to election officials across the country. The parcels, deemed nonhazardous by officials, were sent to Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wyoming and Oklahoma to different state officials' offices.

Election officials in five states received suspicious packages, causing concern amidst early voting. No hazardous materials found.
