Bangladesh has objected to a speech that its ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina made from India and asked New Delhi to stop her making "fabricated" comments, its foreign ministry said on Friday.

Bangladesh’s new government is struggling to deal with a host of issues, including a stumbling economy and human rights violations, left behind by the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina six months ago.

Bangladesh has formally protested to India over Sheikh Hasina’s statements, calling them false and hostile. This follows protests and vandalism targeting Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has demanded that India restrict Hasina’s speeches.
