All of it culminated this past Saturday with Back to the Bricks, a massive, free car show running about a half-mile on the brick-paved Saginaw Street right through this historic downtown.

The Back to the Bricks Classic Cars Event made its debut in our home city. Classic, custom, and unique cars were parked on Michigan Street from Colfax Avenue to W. Western Avenue.

The main Back to the Bricks will run from Aug. 15-20 in downtown Flint featuring concerts, rolling car cruises and many other activities.

The cars making the Back to the Bricks road trip are as varied as the cars everyone will see on the bricks in August in Flint. One unique car that showed up was a 2007 Street Indy.

Back to the Bricks' second week, donned the "Main Week," has daily events leading up to the Saturday show, which brings classic car owners to Flint before dawn to get a spot in the cruise.
