A basketball card featuring the uniform logos and signatures of legendary players Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant sold for $12.9 million at the auction house’s Summer Platinum Night Sports sale in Dallas, Texas, on Sunday evening, setting a new world record in the process.

Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan and late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant were two of the greatest players the NBA saw in the last 35 years or so. Jordan became arguably the greatest ever by leading the Bulls to six championships and winning 10 scoring titles and five MVPs,

The auction also capped a big month for Kobe Bryant collectibles. High-end collector Matt Allen recently revealed he privately spent $4 million on two 1-of-1 Panini Flawless Logoman Kobe cards. Until Saturday, those purchases held the record for the most expensive Bryant cards ever sold.
