A federal agency last week released pictures of clothing and jewelry recovered from a woman's human remains found around the York County-Cumberland County line last year.

A body that was discovered in Alabama nearly 20 years ago was identified as an escaped inmate who had been using a fake name, officials said. The body was originally discovered by hunters in October 2005 in woods near Garden City, Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey said in a Feb. 11 news release shared with McClatchy News.

The human remains of a body found more than three decades ago in Placer County have been identified as those of a woman who went missing from Berkeley. In a statement, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said they used modern technology to prove that they’ve found Wendy Abrams-Nishikai, who was last seen on Halloween night in 1989 when she was 21.

Officials put out a description of the female whose remains were discovered in a wooded area by a local business in York County, in hopes of having her identified.
