Macdonald revealed Wednesday, Sept. 23, that he contacted Payton to apologize after his story about a behind-the-scenes dispute between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos became public.

The Seahawks public relations staff had five days to review the full interview that talk show host Graham Bensinger conducted with coach Mike Macdonald and planned to post publicly.

Macdonald recently revealed in a candid chat that Payton took issue with Seattle's use of roughly 100 publicly posted videos from Broncos training camp to prepare for their Week 1 matchup in 2024.
