A Red Flag Warning​ is back in effect for much of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as the fire threat remains high.

New York City has issued a red flag warning that will stay in effect until 6 p.m. Friday. A notice on the NotifyNYC social media account says, New Yorkers may see or smell smoke because of multiple wildfires burning in New Jersey.

Unusually dry weather, an abundance of ‘dry fuels’, low relative humidity and strong winds combine to create high risk of fire spread.
