With the Tuesday deadline looming, we project the entire 53-man roster for the Commanders, including some surprise cuts and tough decisions.

With the preseason out of the way, next up is cutdown day. Every NFL team must trim its roster from 90 players to 53 by 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Then, teams can begin assembling their practice squads, which often consist of re-signing several players who were cut.

The surprise is that Washington parted ways with Brian Robinson Jr ., though he didn't stand out in any particular area in Washington's offense and the Commanders liked their depth enough to move on. They're high on seventh-round rookie Croskey-Merritt and they also will use Deebo Samuel in the backfield on occasion.
