AWS recently announced a new feature Provisioned Capacity for Athena, that allows users to run SQL queries on fully-managed compute capacity for a fixed price and no long-term commitments.

Athena enables SQL queries directly on data stored in the AWS Simple Storage Service (S3) storage service. Athena is a serverless solution that does not require any infrastructure configuration.
