The Detroit Pistons signed Caris LeVert to a two-year deal, but before he was in the NBA, he starred with Michigan basketball.

LeVert, who was selected in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft, was a fan favorite at Michigan, but had the latter half of his college career derailed by injuries. The swingman played in a combined 33 games in his junior and senior seasons due to lingering lower body injuries.

The Pistons initially projected they would bring back last year's veterans — Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Dennis Schröder in addition to Reed. However, a Sunday report that Beasley is being investigated in a gambling probe forced them to look at Plan B options.
