The St. Louis Blues were one overtime period away from playing in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Adam Lowry ended the Blues’ season 16 minutes into the second overtime, forcing them to start their offseason early.

The Dallas Stars will play the Winnipeg Jets in the Western Conference Second Round. The Stars advanced by defeating the Colorado Avalanche 4-2 in Game 7 at American Airlines Center on Saturday. The Jets advanced by defeating the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in double overtime in Game 7 at Canada Life Centre on Sunday.

This series has played out like many expected. Tough, dirty and exciting games between two division rivals. As stated earlier, the home side has managed to come out on top through the first five games. The Jets took control of the series with wins in Winnipeg in Games 1 and 2, while the Blues answered back with dominant victories in St. Louis.
