A teenager was fatally shot Saturday evening at a park on Detroit's west side, the latest in a series of shootings involving minors this summer. At approximately 8:15 p.m., a 16-year-old was found unresponsive from a gunshot wound to the head at Butzel playground on the 14800 block of Monte Vista Street, Detroit police said in a release.

DETROIT, MI – An investigation is underway after two Detroit police officers were hospitalized following a crash. Injuries to both officers are not considered to be life-threatening, police said. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, near Gratiot Avenue and Lappin Street.

Officers were driving in the left lane to make a left turn at Gratiot Avenue when a black pickup struck their car, police said.
