Islam Makhachev became a two-division champion and utilized a dominant grappling game to take the welterweight title in the main event from Jack Della Maddalena. Wrestling was the name of the game in the co-headliner, too, as Valentina Shevchenko defended her women's flyweight title against former two-time strawweight queen Weili Zhang.

The former three-time NCAA champion wrestler at Penn State secured a head kick knockout of Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Rodolfo Vieira in the third round of their middleweight bout, then promptly scaled the octagon fence and flipped the bird at those in attendance.

Valentina Shevchenko and Weili Zhang met in one of the biggest women's fights in MMA history at UFC 322. Headlined by another massive title fight featuring Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev, UFC 322's co-main event saw Zhang move up from the strawweight division to challenge Shevchenko for the women's flyweight belt.

UFC 322 was easily one of the best MMA cards of the year. It might have even been the best, flat out.

Better to be safe than sorry … Following UFC 322 last night (Sat., Nov. 15, 2025) inside Madison Square Garden, company officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that two fighters were transported to a local New York hospital for precautionary reasons after their bouts.
