New York has more ski areas than any state in the country. According to the Ski Areas of New York Economic Impact Analysis for the '22/'23 season, roughly 52 ski areas and resorts operate in The Empire State, a number that dwarfs western states such as Utah (15) and Colorado (28).

These ski areas don’t have the same fame or amenities as spots like Jackson Hole or Aspen. But they offer superior snow, few crowds and a vibe.
