Update: Pickett Fire in Napa County – 11% containment achieved
Pickett Fire initially started 2:57 p.m. Aug. 21 in Napa County, California. After being active for two days, it has burned 6,531.4 acres. A crew of 1,230 firefighters succeeded in containing 11% of the fire as of Saturday evening. However, the cause is still being investigated.

A fire burning near Silverado Trail wineries prompted evacuation orders in Napa County. The Pickett Fire was reported around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, off Pickett Road, near Calistoga. By Saturday night, it had burned 6,531 acres (10 square miles) with 11% containment, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
The blaze started near Calistoga Thursday, which, as of Sunday, has since burned 6,803 acres and is 11% contained.
