JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Eight months after voters approved it, Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed the repeal of a law Thursday that had guaranteed paid sick leave to workers and inflationary adjustments to the minimum wage.

The repeal of the sick leave provisions in Senate Bill 567 was among the highest profile fights in the General Assembly this spring, triggering lengthy filibusters and the deployment of a rarely used maneuver by Republicans to muscle it through the Senate after negotiations faltered.

The reversal reflected a growing struggle over the use of ballot measures to answer policy questions in Republican-led states.
