Oct 6, 2024 · Apple replaced it under warranty and returned it yesterday, this time with Sequoia 15.1 installed. Restoring from my Time Machine backup went fine and only two issues were noted. For some reason the desktop files did not get restored until the iCloud backup of those was turned back on.

If you bought the 14" or 16" MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro or Max CPUs they could be upgraded up to 64GB, but again, this is not upgrade-able after purchase. Before you purchase the Mac, be sure to go to an Apple store and compare it with the Macbook Air 15. I found the Macbook Air was lighter and better than the Macbook Pro 14 for traveling. I maxed out the memory and the SSD.

Dec 25, 2023 · I bought a new 2023 Macbook Pro about a year ago as well, and I'm having the same issue. My 2015 MBP could do Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time. With my new one, I can barely have Photoshop and Safari open without it being over 75% memory pressure. I was also assured by an Apple Store salesperson that 16GB was more than enough.
