Today marks the 147th Anniversary of the Battle of Rorke’s Drift. On 22nd January 1879, 141 Soldiers of the British Army comprising of the 24 Regiment of Foot and Royal Engineers, 4 civilians and 11 colonial Soldiers successfully defended a small garrison against repeated attack from 4000 Zulu Warriors, taking place from later afternoon until the morning of 23rd January 1879.
