On May 8, 1994 “The Stand” aired on ABC! The post-apocalyptic television miniseries was based on the 1978 novel of the same name by Stephen King. King also wrote the teleplay and has a minor role in the series. It was directed by Mick Garris, who previously directed the original King screenplay/film Sleepwalkers (1992).
