The Dramatics is a Detroit-based soul group formed in 1964 by Ron Banks, Larry Demps, Rod Davis, Elbert Wilkins and Larry Reed. They signed to Stax in 1968, and in 1971 released their hit album Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get. The album peaked at number 20 on the Billboard 200 and number 5 on the Billboard R&B charts, and was certified gold by the R.I.A.A. by December of 1971.
