One of the coolest things about working with encaustic is making pours. Watching the wax move, settle, and pool into unexpected shapes feels a bit like collaborating with gravity. Once the pour is down, the fun really begins. I can nudge it while it’s still warm, carve back into it, layer more paint, collage, or marks over top. Each step reveals something new to respond to.
