🏈On December 19, 1948 the 16th NFL Championship Game took place at Shibe Park in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Eagles shutout the Chicago Cardinals 7-0 in a snowstorm. It was the first NFL championship game to be televised and due to heavy snowfall, the grounds crew needed the help of players from both teams to remove the tarp from the field. The Eagles won their first NFL title with a 7–0 win; it was the first title for Philadelphia since 1926, when the Frankford Yellow Jackets won the league
