Uganda Railways will install automated barrier systems at railway crossings in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono. The decision follows Friday's collision between a passenger train and a school bus at Namumira crossing. URC says preliminary findings suggest the bus driver ignored instructions to stop as the train approached.
